Mauricio Pochettino and the USMNT: "Our dreams should have no boundaries"
Mauricio Pochettino, who coaches the USMNT, emphasizes the importance of dreaming big and encouraging competitors on the field.

LAGUNA NIQUEL, California — Mauricio Pochettino has built his life around the belief that it's important to dream big. In an in-depth media interview, he said, "Our dreams should be limitless." The USMNT's World Cup opener kicked off last week with a record 4-1 win over Paraguay. "If we touch the moon like we do, it's likely to be closer to us," Pochettino said.
"All things have a beginning. We have started a new World Cup journey and for this we have to be optimistic," said Pochettino.
He has taken steps to change the team's internal culture after being appointed coach of the USMNT during a turbulent period.
"We want our players to feel free and not burden them with unnecessary responsibilities," he said.
Heading into the USMNT's next match against Australia, they are still looking for a win.

"We have to combine faith and activity at the same time," said Pochettino.
"Winning the World Cup should be our dream," he said.
To strengthen the nucleus of his team, Pochettino introduced new players and created opportunities for them.
"In an effort to change the nature of the team, he brought more competitors into the fold," he said.
"The skills of the USMNT help us defeat various historic quests," he said.
