Tunisia sacked coach after World Cup defeat
Sabri Lamochi, coach of Tunesië, was sacked after a 5-1 defeat in the first match of the World Cup.

Sabri Lamochi, coach of the Oranje's World Cup opponents, Tunesië, has been sacked. This was reported in Tunisian media. A coach sacked after a World Cup match is unprecedented. Lamochi was coach of Tunesië for less than ten months. The build-up to the World Cup was a mess, including a heavy 5-0 defeat against Belgium. Lamochi promised to rectify the situation, but to no avail. After losing the first World Cup match (5–1) against Sweden, the Football Council took the decision to sack Lamoche. This is an earlier occurrence as no coach has been sacked after one match before. Tunesië will play the second match against Japan on Sunday and the final against Oranje on the 26th. No one seems to be taking over after Lamochi.
