Why are they taking e tanta on Vuchkovic?
19-year-old central defender Luka Vuchkovic, on loan at Hamburg, won plaudits in India's World Cup defeat against England.
Interest in the World Cup and some Brighton has generated a lot of talk about Luka Vuchkovic, a.k.a. Totc. The 19-year-old centre-back, who spent last season on loan at Hamburg, has been tipped to fill the role at Brighton. Vuchkovic won plaudits in the World Cup defeat to England, although Jude Bellingham was the subject of negative criticism when the former put the team up 3-2. Last season, Vuchkovic led Hamburg to a 13th-place finish. At the same time, he has been nominated for the Punter League award and the Rookie of the Year award. He is one of only 5 players in Germany's top flight to record a hundred uniques in clearances, ball recoveries, match wins and field goals in the 2025–26 season. His national team manager, Zladko Talic, said the 6ft 4in centre-back "will be one of the children of our national team for the next 10 years". Team for the country, but with interest from other clubs, and having to compete with several Totem defenders, his role in the Spurs team still creates some doubt.
