Liverpool, PSG target Diomonte may end after World Cup
Yann Diomonte, Ivory Coast's strong striker, has attracted the attention of top European clubs such as Liverpool and PSG after his impressive start to the World Cup.

Yann Diomonte will decide his future after the end of the World Cup, according to Ivory Coast coach Emarch Bay. His impressive performances for RB Leipzig during the 2025-26 season have attracted the attention of some of Europe's top clubs. Clubs such as Liverpool and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain are said to be linked with the winger. The 19-year-old Diomonte boosted his profile further with an impressive performance against Ecuador in Ivory Coast's 1-0 win. He is the only two Ivory Coast players to have created more chances in a single World Cup match in Group E: Arthur Boca (six chances) in 2010 and Didier Djokore (seven chances) in 2006. But Bey said any discussion, including Diomonte's, should take place after the conclusion of the Ivory Coast campaign. "When we were in France, during the build-up, the press told me he had signed with PSG," Bay said. "Here, they say he's going to sign with Liverpool! I don't know, but right now, he has to focus on the World Cup and then think about other things about his career. "He's very talented, but beyond talent, he's very young, and he'll improve. "He's a kid who works hard, has a real team spirit, laughs with everyone, and listens to the advice he gives and tries to do what he has to do. "It's easy to work with someone like Yann, he's very talented, has what it takes, and he can give you success and is a real challenge for [Piero] Hincapie, a Champions League finalist.

Diomonte made 7 attempts at more international pitches in the tournament, 4 of which were successful, and he won 11 of the 15 balls he contested. He registered 22 goal contributions for Leipzig in the 2025–26 season, scoring 13 goals and providing 9 assists. In all competitions in the Punderliga, only Michel Olisse (140) has surpassed Diomonte (132).
