Takefusa Kubo on injury after Japan-Netherlands 2-2 draw: "I don't know what happened"
Takefusa Kubo said of his health after the Japan–Netherlands (2–2) match: 'I think I'll be fine... I don't know what happened'. He assisted on a goal in the 57th minute and was substituted in the 75th minute with a knee injury. Japan will next face Tunisia on June 21 and Sweden on June 26.

Winger Takefusa Kubo played a key role as Japan held the Netherlands to a 2–2 draw in the first round of the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage.
Kubo assisted Japan's goal in the 57th minute. But he was substituted in the 75th minute due to a knee problem. After the match, he left the stadium in a wheelchair.

In a post-match interview, Gubo said: "I think I will be fine. I don't know what happened to me, I really don't. It's a feeling of being hit from all directions at once. Everything will be fine; we'll wait and see," as quoted by Spanish media.
Japan will face Tunisia on June 21 and Sweden on June 26 in the next round of the group stage.
