Vinicius - before the match with Morocco

Brazil forward Vinicius Junior has shared his expectations for the World Cup clash with Morocco. The first round of the 2026 World Cup will be held on June 13-14.

"We play Morocco, it's a match where everyone is balanced. The talent of the Moroccan team has improved a lot in the last few years and now they are close to the level of Brazil," said Vinicius.

"Remember the teams in third place, they finished fourth in the last World Cup and won the last African Cup. They have great players: I watch Prima Díaz in Madrid every day and Hakimi has won the last two league cups - no need to add details," he added.

"All the teams in the world are competitive at the moment. I expect a big game in the first match of the World Cup, and Brazil will definitely want to get the three points. The first points - we want to stay in America for more days," said Vinicius.

The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19, featuring the United States, Canada and Mexico. Morocco, Haiti and Scotland are Brazil's opposition.
