Heavy criticism for Brazilian captain Neymar, who returns for the match against Scotland
Brazil beat Haiti and won, but Neymar was injured. Leader Lula blamed Neymar's absence as Neymar prepares for the match against Scotland.
Brazil had an expected big win against Haiti last Friday. The "Divine Canaries" were often not flashy, but the first half made a difference. The victory came without Neymar, who is set to play again in the final group match. But the Brazilian leader's comments did not affect him.
Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, known as Lula, is the president of Brazil and attends an event. There, he questioned which Brazilian player was truly the best. A boy mentioned Neymar's name in the crowd, but it was not acknowledged by Lula. "He doesn't play! Neymar is the first player to be invited to work from home," joked Lula.
Lula's criticism is simply not there. Ahead of the 2022 presidential election, Lula ran against the controversial Jair Bolsonaro. Neymar has since backed Bolsonaro. It was unforgettable for Lula.
However, Neymar is currently focusing on recovering from his injury. He has been out all last month with an injury, but is now showing a light. He had been training with the team for a few days last week.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti had good news for his players after the match against Haiti. "Neymar will first train alone and then join the squad on Monday, when he will be ready for the match against Scotland," said the Italian. Neymar's recovery is a future for Rabinya's injury resistance. Barcelona's right-back was out with an injury ahead of the match against Haiti. What will happen for the remainder of his World Cup is yet to be seen.
