Tristan Berghuis at FC Twente technical team: assistant coach with a two-year contract
FC Twente have added Tristan Berghuis to the technical squad. Tristan, younger brother of Ajax player Steven Berghuis, has signed a two-year deal to assist head coach John van den Brom.

Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente have signed 30-year-old Tristan Berghuis to their technical squad. He will serve as an assistant coach to head coach John van den Brom. The contract is for two years.
Tristan, the younger brother of Ajax player Steven Berghuis and the son of former Netherlands international Frank Berghuis, has been without a team since the sacking of Paul Simonis at VfL Wolfsburg last November. Tristan has previous experience working successfully with Simonis at Go Ahead Eagles. He also worked on the technical team led by Kees van Wonderen and René Hake. A former youth player at clubs Vitesse and PEC Zwolle, he will now be Van den Brom's assistant at Twente alongside Jeffrey de Visscher.
Speaking about the infrastructure changes associated with him, Technical Director Erik ten Hag said, "We are opting for a personnel change in certain responsibilities. Tristan is a welcome addition; his footballing vision and work ethic align well with where FC Twente wants to go." Twente will talk about Ivar van Dinteren, who was assistant-trainer last season, regarding his role and ideals.

Twente have already appointed Eric Weghorst as goalkeeper coach, and Niek Loohuis will continue in the match analysis department. Luc Stolker, 35, from the academy, will join former Twente player Wout Brama in personal training and player guidance.
Twente's pre-season training starts early next week. Twente will face either Serbia's FK Vojvodina or Hungary's Ferencváros in the first leg of the Europa League second qualifying round on July 23. The 2024–25 Eredivisie season begins on 9 August with the opening match away to SC Heerenveen.
Meanwhile, Twente also announced their first new signings on Tuesday. Go Ahead have signed Aske Adelgaard from Eagles as a replacement for Mats Rots, who was sold to 1899 Hoffenheim.
