A personal call from Mourinho confirmed Cucurella's £52m transfer to Real Madrid
Mark Cucurella has shared details of his £52million transfer. He noted that the deal happened too soon and affected coach Mourinho.
Marc Cucurella (27) has shared details of his £52 million move to Real Madrid. He revealed that the deal was done in one day and that there was no doubt when the call came, in doubt at the World Cup center in Sabine's country.
The transfer, reported by Football España for a fee of Rs 47.5 million in fixed and Rs 4.3 million in additional costs, has given Cucurella a contract with Real Madrid until the first term of 2030.
The deal was completed while Cucurella continued his international duties, which fit all the specifications. When he described how the exchange took place, he said that there was no intention behind it. "The exchange happened very quickly," he said. "I received a call this morning. My people, two teams mostly said what was mentioned in the contract, so I have to decide if I want to go there. I have no doubt. It's a big step for me, very important in my career."
It is important to note here that this is not a long story. Because it happened so fast, he said he was happy to go earlier.
Mourinho's role was again the talk of the town. "When a coach like Mourinho calls you and says he wants to work with you, that gives you confidence," Cuccurella said.
The transfer was based on Cucurella's La Masia and his previous move to Barcelona, but Cucurella said there were different chapters in his career.
"There are different chapters in my life and I thought this was the right step for me. If Real Madrid invites you, it will be very difficult to refuse."
As his wife Claudia and his family are supporters of Real Madrid, this transfer carries a message of betrayal in his home.
Madrid have secured Cucurella, the highest-profile signing since Mourinho's arrival. Cucurella, a reliable regular in the last four transfers, is once again set to leave Chelsea.
Cucurella will start before Real Madrid after the World Cup final.
