Lukaku, 33, has moved up to third in Belgium team history

Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku improved his position on the list of most played players in the 2026 World Cup second round match against Iran. The match ended in a 0-0 draw. Lukaku, who started the match, was substituted in the 73rd minute. He has made 128 appearances so far, moving Lukaku into third place, overtaking Toby Alderweireld on 127. Currently, only leading players Axel Witsel (138) and Jan Vertonghen (157) are ahead of him. In the third round, Belgium will face New Zealand (June 27) and Iran will play Egypt (same day).
