After a 1–1 draw with Morocco, Brazil responded by beating Haiti 3–0 to top Group C with four points. Mathews Kunya scored a double and Vini Junior scored a goal; Pocket Assist. Brazil beat Haiti 3-0 in the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage in Philadelphia, USA on Friday (19). After a 1–1 draw against Morocco in the opener, Brazil ended the game midway through the first half in what was called for "answers to the fans".
It was Mathews Kunya who opened the door. A place in the starting line-up, he scored two quick goals to extend the lead. Cunha became the ninth Brazilian in World Cup history to score twice before the 37th minute of the first half. Before this, Ademir (1950), Vava (1958), Garrinza (1962), Tiraceu (1978), Chico (1982), Cesar Sampaio (1998), Ronaldo Penomeno (2002) and Neymar (2014) did it. Cunha also joins Neymar (2014) and Rizarlison (2022) as the most players to have scored more than two goals in their first World Cup match in a starting XI.
Vini Jr. had a hand in the first two goals and added a goal himself off an assist from Lucas Paquette. With this, he continued his impact at the World Cup with six goals/assists in six matches.
Brazil slowed down a bit in the second half; Haiti, meanwhile, also gave warning with some efforts. Indrik and Ryan alternated in the second half. It was only the second time in Brazil's history that they fielded two under-20 players in the same World Cup match; Pele-Matchola had previously done this against Wales in 1958. A Vasco academy graduate, Ryan became the sixth youngest player to play for Brazil at the World Cup. Indrik had a goal disallowed for offside.
The victory restored Brazil's lead as the top scorer in World Cup history — Brazil 241, Germany 239. In the group stage standings, Brazil topped Group C with four points (+3); Morocco are also trailing on goal difference (+1) with just four points.
Next up, Brazil take on Scotland in Miami on Wednesday (24) (7pm Brasilia time). Morocco, meanwhile, will face Haiti in Atlanta.
