Edendork are through to the Dron Senior Football Championship final for the first time in their history with an eight-point win over Donaghmore. Established in 1932, Chain Malachy has a few intermediate and strip titles to its name, but Troon has never reached the senior football finals. This year, Brian McGuigan and Malachy McClincy's team won the previous rounds of Artbow and Glono, and in those victories showed their promise; But, it was put together in Duncannon. Their leader, goalkeeper Niall Morgan, provided an excellent unit for his team's best match, adding six points. Defensively, Edendork were solid, intercepting Feargal Logan's Donaghmore side for tries and despite a poor first half on kickouts, they held their own and won by 0-20 to 0-12. In 2024 Ulster champions and All-Ireland senior finalists Eric Sieran look forward to the end of Chein Malachy after the reigning Dron SFC champions beat Loughmaggery. The lead-up to O'Neill's teasing victory was highly contested.
Antrim's senior football championship turns to two Belfast teams, with Sean Britts and O'Donovan Rossa all but city expectations at the end, last year's late losers Dunlay and Corkin outright winners. Reigning champions Dunleigh were knocked out in the previous round yesterday by future Nah Brits. Both teams had no influence in the first half and they covered five points, with Antrim's hurling star Sianna Elliott having a chance to score two points for Cussullines' side. In the second half, the Cheyenne Brits never let up, winning 12 points to three, with JJ Higgins scoring five points for the west Belfast side. O'Donovan and Rossa eventually visit, a time has changed, and Thomas Morgan, who ends up sending them a quick look. Cork were in control at times, leading by 12 and taking a five-point lead, but the Shaws Road men held on. In the end, Morgan ends the peace in a quick meeting, only for the Chain Brits to clash in the future.
Two South Armagh teams meet in this year's Armagh SFC final, Cross MacLenn and Killeavy, with wins against Clan Erin and Drominty. Cross MacLenn, who have been placed for the past two years, came back from 13 points behind to beat Lurgan by two points. Five two points and a goal from Emmet Magar kept Clan Erin at 1-14 to 0-4. But the Black and Amber side scored 12 points in the second half. Killeavy eventually joined Shane Lennon's Rangers, marking a 38-year gap in Armagh SFC appearances. Fergal Boylan failed in a document with Tromindi.
Reigning All-Ireland senior champions Dingle have been dumped out of the Kerry Senior Football Championship with a shock six-point defeat. Dingle is making her first start in this year's hunt since winning her first Cary title in 1948. Spa, from Killarney, started the game well, 0-12 to 1-5 in front, with Care leading the way to regroup. In the final 15 minutes, a two-point goal by Paul Genie narrowly reduced the deficit, but it was to last.
